Athame of The Lunar Eclipse

Jared has been busy in his workshop again working with the Full moon and produced an Athame from another Railway Spike. As Jared forged and hammered away his intention was with the full Moon.

This moon is a total Lunar Eclipse Virgo moon. It carries grounded energy and is a powerful time for transformation and cleansing. Let go what doesn’t serve you anymore and release all toxic energy. It’s a good time to make life changes, and to heal old wounds. Don’t think, just do, this is a potent opportunity to make those radical changes and stop stagnating.

This Athame is definitely one with powerful energy and a reminder to move forward at all times. Measuring 22cm from tip to butt, it has a twisted handle with chunky butt and sits beautifully in your hand.

Jared has blackened the handle and anodized the blade, coated it in a wax for protection and it will form its own Patina over time.

Fiona has finished the handle with a black suede cord adding antler slice and moon charm to one tail and a Ansuz silver tone rune bead with crow feather to the other.

Ansuz represents inspiration, communication, vision and insight which fits perfectly with the intent.

Crow represent changes, intelligence, transformation, wisdom and adaptability.

What is an Athame?

An Athame is a ceremonial tool used in Witchcraft and other ceremonial majick traditions.

In witchcraft it symbolises the element fire and is used for channeling, banishing and many other rituals but wasn’t used for actual physical cutting.

In tarot it represents the suit of swords and along with the cup, wand and pentacle they all become the 4 “weapons” of significance.
