Black salt is often used in Spell work and Rituals. It is used for protection and can be used anywhere you need to protect against negativity and bane. Try rolling a black candle in your Black salt and burn it when you feel you need to.

It can also be used for banishment and hexes and I use different herbs depending on what “type” of Black salt I want. For example if I want protection I might add Basil, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Garlic, Peppers, Bay leaves; but there are many other herbs used for protection its entirely up to you what you use.

If I am doing a Black Salt for Banishment I might use, garlic, sage, anything with thorns, peppers etc.

If you are hexing you may use Graveyard dirt, Red Peppers, Spanish moss or war water

I make my Black salt using the charcoal from a ritual fire and that includes the herbs I am using for the ritual (protection, banishment or hexing).

Black salt can also be made using sage or incense ash, Black peppers or scrapings from a cast iron cauldron or pot.

Once you have used your black salt you need to dispose of it properly. For me I mostly use fire as I am a fire sign, but you can throw the remains into a moving stream, bury it at crossroads or dispose of at a graveyard.
