What is Comfrey?

Also known as Knit bone, Woundwort, Healherb, Gum Plant and All Heal.

Comfrey is a healing herb and is used externally for breaks, sprains, strains, fractures and scarring. It is an anti-inflammatory, astringent and demulcent. The roots and leaves contain Allantoin, a substance thought to promote cell renewal, and Rosmarinus acid, which, along with the tannins, is believed to have soothing properties.

We grow our own Comfrey and make our own brews. This Comfrey Salve is made with Comfrey leaf, Tea tree essential oil with a Grape seed oil, Coconut oil and bees wax base.

CAUTION

Do not use Comfrey on open wounds as it promotes skin growth too fast and can cause infections to be trapped in the wound.

Comfrey should not be taken internally as it has toxic substances called pyrrolizidine alkaloids that can cause liver damage.
